This was a quiet few days stay, very touristy here, markets selling the same stuff one stall after another.... Marcus has been unwell so trying to sleep it off so we have just been by the pool chillin and strolling around the town and seafront... Looking forward to tomorrow, we go to Phi Phi Don....
For those of you who don't know (I previously did not), I'm referring to Bangkok. I leave the beach later today to head to the big city. I've had a relaxing time in the south but it is now time to move on. I'm graciously being picked up at the airport and invited to dinner by my friend Annette's friend Greg and his girlfriend Jum who live in Bangkok. Thank you Greg and Jum! I will be spending 4 nights in Bangkok and then flying to Hanoi on Wednesday to begin my tour of Vietnam. ...
We ended our time on Ko Lipe in much the same way as we had started each day previous, by indulging in eggs benedict and mango shakes. We then waited on the beach for a longtail boat to take us out to the Tigerline Ferry which was our ticket to Hat Yao. From there it was a 3 hr mini bus ride to our new port of call, Ao Nang. Stepping off the bus and onto the hot bustling sidewalk we considered our options. Down to the main thoroughfare for a beachside hotel with swimming pool or ...
... what amounted to a circus in front of us. Speed boats, party boats, day cruisers and dozens of long tailed boats unloading people onto an already crowded beach. It was beautiful but not worth getting wrapped up in all of that. We asked Sin to take us on to Monkey Bay and we were thankful we had paid for sole use of the boat. Back across the stomach churning rolling grey sea and slowly into Monkey Bay. We could see the Monkeys running along the beach as ...
Today was spent exploring Ao Nang beach and orientating ourselves. We also booked a 4 Island tour for tomorrow.
Hein went for a "fish massage" where you put your feet in a fish tank and hundreds of small fish nibble at your legs.He now feels like a million dollars.
Ao Nang beach is long and beautiful, with long-tail boats anchored all along the beach.

We booked for 3 days in a superior room and on arrival was upgraded to the deluxe accommodation. The huts are a good size for 2 with a nice size bathroom and a sit out verandah with an overhead roof so keeps it lovely and cool. The air con is the best yet! Works really well.
We have a tv in the room but does not work so not sure why it's provided. When we asked they said no tv's work here...? We also do not get supplied tea or coffee in the rooms which we found strange in 'deluxe' accommodation.
The pool is lovely, cleaned daily and plenty of sunbeds to choose from.
Overall the resort is great and would recommend to anyone. Well worth a stop over!
