... nice too. We have been to the beach everyday and we hired out some body boards as the waves were incredible! Body boarding was loads of fun but really tiring, pushing through the waves constantly and being near drowned on occasions. We must have stood out like a saw thumb as the Aussies, including young children, seemed so relaxed in the sea with the huge waves whereas I was constantly being taken under and surfacing looking quite dishevelled. ... drop in. We were enticed to join a group of about fifteen people - some tourists, some locals - who were singing along with one guy playing a guitar. The energy was good, so we joined in as the guitar made its way around the circle for sharing. After playing a couple of songs, singing along to a few more, and downing a couple of Bintangs, we packed up that delightful memory and left the beach area, making our way through the winding, ...

Seminyak, Indonesia: Merry Xmas & Happy New Ye

A travel blog entry by samber on Dec 20, 2013

... of Seminyak, Legian and Kuta. Have to say - disgusting!! It's more rubbish tip than pristine beach. Whether it's the weather that's washed it all up who knows but I sure as hell wouldn't swim there. Two of the stranger things washed up were a dead chicken and a miraculously unbroken light bulb. Talk about an ideal place for kids to go and frolic in the surf - NOT! We kick started New Years Eve off with a divine three course meal and cocktails at one of ...
