... with paris a few times. Once on the train to versailles, once while staring at the eiffel tower at night while looking at it from across the seine river. Definitely adds to the mood, as evidenced by all the couples proudly displaying their affection for each other to the world

We arrived in Brugge at approximately 11.30 am after a scenic train ride from Brussels. We found our hotel with a minimum of fuss, quite the travel experts that we are, but we cannot be too complacent. One wrong turn out of a train station and you can easily get lost. ... around the city we became a bit chilly so headed back to the hotel to grab some warmer clothes. After accidentally sleeping off the beer for a couple of hours we headed out, did some washing, grabbed some stuff from the supermarket, then returned to make some tasty tasty sammiches and waffles for our evening meal. They were the best sammiches ever and they all lived happily ever after. The end.

... wasn't there supposed to be a church with a Michelangelo in it somewhere"? I looked around as to where we were standing and go, "Oh yeah, this one" and in we went. The church was undergoing a lot of restoration so we got in for a couple of Euros each rather than the usual 6 Euro price. rounded the ticket booth and there was a Michelangelo Mother and Child right there! Beautiful. You just never know where you are going to run across ...

... old town that remained as such due to trade coming to a halt rendering the town hardly touched for a few hundred years. Lovely canals and cute step shaped roofed houses. Then enjoyed some generous servings of moules frites for dinner, so so good!
