Was awaken early in the morning to the beautiful scenery outside our balcony. Some of us had decided to go for a half day snorkelling tour on the 4 islands off Koh Lanta while others prefer to keep themselves away from the rocking boats for fear of sea sickness. Those who signed up for the snorkelling tour left early when their transport arrived.< …

Day 1 - The Neverending Ride

As we rode our way through the North South Highway, it dawned upon us that this is not the usual night ride through the North South highway. The experience was like out of a doomsday movie where the highways are filled with plenty of cars making their way out of town. Literally the cars were snaking their ways northbound from Johor all the way up …

... my delight!

Both the cocktails and six course feast that we were served were delicious and was easily the best meal we had whist island hopping. Our waitress was also the friendliest Thai person we've ever met, even joining in with our photo taking and generally keeping us entertained throughout the meal. It was a lovely way to finish up our two weeks with the girls and last night in Thailand before we catch yet another night train back to Malaysia to continue our travels ...

Back to the villa for more swimming and relaxing, then room service for dinner! Deep fried sea bass on thick red curry sauce for David, and I had green curry with chicken and vegetables. Outstanding. Had a Provence Rose with dinner. Lovely ...

... have ever seen!

Lunch was a vegetable curry and rice and fresh watermelon and pineapple for dessert, and we had a bit of time to wander the beach and shake off our sealegs and take it all in. You realise just why it takes several plane journeys, a taxi and two boat trips to see such a wonderful place. Sometimes in life you actually do get out what you put in, and we can honestly say it was worth every last second to get here!

What an amazing day.
