Tricia and went on our way south; stopped by the Oklahoma visitors' center, got some info and ate a delicious salad out of the cooler in the parking lot. Made reservations to stay at Lake Murray State Park where they have a lodge. Turns out Lake Murray state park is the oldest and biggest state park in Oklahoma. Room was nice, TV, coffee maker, comfortable beds, view of lake, and only $68 ...
... including this area. It is so disappointing to see the families coming here this summer not able to frolic in the water as they would like to. Hopefully, next year will be different and refreshing.
Also located within the area is the Chickasaw Nation Cultural Center. We attended a full days activities that included a active 'model village', Native Indians performed meaningful dances [like the Bear Dance], and finally, a huge museum ...
... in the cool of the pool. Very nice! On the days we stayed in camp we took a long stroll around the campground, along with putters in hand, and wound up at the mini-putt course. Yup #1, we were lucky to have another "well kept" little mini-putt course, and Yup #2, Caryn remains champ of the putting contests!! Oh my, what am I to do with my putting when I can't even 'beat a girl'?
