... to return. During our one week in Miahuatlan, we have seen Valentine celebrations, walked along the river´s edge past people bathing and washing clothes, checked out the Sunday activities in the square, bartered in the fantastic Monday market, celebrated Chris´ birthday, visited a local village school in Santa Cruz Xitla which caused quite the commotion, discovered a hidden spring in a grotto, attended a party given by the new ESL teachers at the ...

Huatulco - Last Destination on the Pacific Coast

... on the bus that brought us here from Puerto Escondido.

The name “Bahias de Huatulco” is a reflection of the local geography that is highlighted by nine spectacular bays along this part of the Pacific Coast. It was in 1983 that FONATUR, Mexico’s tourism development agency started Huatulco Bays as their 5th major resort area. Almost everything that exists here today is a result of those efforts.

... Africa on the place. This morning, I was writing in my journal, looking out at the ocean, and the hotel started playing this African music (not in Swahili, but definitely in some Bantu language that I could understand a few words of)... I don't know how to explain what I felt. I'm going to spend today, since it's kind of rainy, being introspective, and reading and writing. Tomorrow, I'm going to go boogie boarding. :) Monday, I go to Puerto Escondido.

... Mazunte means 'Please come here and spawn' and while it would be nice to think its for us humans, its actually for the giant sea turtles that live around there! Oh so cute! But apart from the Turtle museum there isn't too much else so we went to San Agustinillo nearby. It was perfect! A tiny town and the first place on the beach we picked had a room which was great! Hammock outside, big room and bathroom, if plain, but with a priceless view ...

... pick it up personally there, they can send it to me, wherever I might be at that time. Probably, if the timing works, I'll have it sent to another Consulate, perhaps in Cabo San Lucas. Along our route, there's one in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo, so it's a matter of where I'll be when it's ready, etc. Right after that, we headed on up the coast towards Puerto Escondido.

... us long to decide to go to Mazunte instead. We had heard about Mazunte from the manager of the hotel we stayed at in Oaxaca city. We told him that we were planning on heading to Puerto Escondido or Zipolite. He assured us that Mazunte was absolutely beautiful and also not nearly as touristy as the other beaches. We were not disapointed. Mazunte is a very small beach town, the main drag of which runs for about 100 yards just inland from the ...

An internet café was duly located and we were able to upload Travelpod and photo's at a very low cost, even though it took a couple of hours. After a bit of shopping we were all very glad to return to the ship - it's a lovely area but the heat had defeated us all. More About My Life in México

... I don´t eat as much as they do so my portions are nice. A little before 3 I return to my school for my "taller" or workshop. This week we made masks for El Día de Los Muertos. I get to finish painting mine on Monday. I also have and intercambio with a native speaker at 5, Gertrudis. We´ve started getting along really well! We´re going to a market in another town Tlacalula, on Sunday. Woohoo! Anyway, yeah. That´s a typical day. Oh, and I decided to go to ...

The waves were massive, i´ve never seen them so big, so big infact that the surfers were scared of them!!!! Feeling way too hot, we haeded to the sun loungers on the beach, where we were waited on with cheap beers for most of the day!!! Its a hard life, aint it?? Decided we needed to really cool off so headed back to ...

... book and taking tests and diving and hanging out at the Dublin Club so I haven't much to say to you all. So for filler I took some pictures on my way home from the marina today. It's a 20 minute walk that blows the taxi drivers' minds. They don't understand a tourist wanting to walk along the mini highway. I am constantly waving them away and they laugh when I tell them I like to walk ...
