... Pisa, we did more walking. The coaches are not allowed into the historical areas so we walked. Although it is so often on any tourist’s itinerary in Italy, and in some ways could seem to be just another touristy thing to do, it was still quite exciting to see the leaning tower for ourselves.

... secret ingredient of the eggplant parmagiana was cocoa. The aroma was something to savor as it was bought to the table. Desert was chocolate salami, which was really a chocolate and biscotti roll. It was so rich but delicious and of course that has to be eaten with desert wine. So sweet but perfect. ... straight out of movie filled with tall buildings, flowers at almost every window and tiny little alleys. We have now got lost multiple times trying to explore the sights and scenery. In getting lost though we have eaten some delicious pizza and pasta. Tonight we are planning to have a true Italian feast! Next stop Le Spezia and the Cinque Terre walk through five towns. ... because all the cities are impossible to compare in order to pick just one favorite but I definitely see why he loves it so much. It had such a strong cultural atmosphere it was very fun just walking through the different areas throughout the city. Similar to other cities I went to in Italy such a Venice, the roads were all stone that were formed by buildings so the walking areas were very small then it opened up into bigger squares. I wish we had cities like this is America! ...
