... host'. Arrived to find with no little dismay, that the apartment block was covered in scaffolding for maintenance to the frontage. Apart from looking ugly, we found that when we got the 3 rd floor apartment, there were scaffolding walkways outside of bedroom and front room windows! ... some castles and a couple of butcher shops that you wouldn't believe - tastings included - prosciutto carved straight off the bone to eat ( Pete - you would have been in heaven!) - food and wine is why so many people visit Tuscany. It was a long, but great day, one we will remember - by the time we got back to our Hotel it was 10.10pm - we had left at 7.45 am that morning, so we obviously slept well that night.

... Vias (streets) were shops, cafes and more, joining the modern and ancient to one.

Luckily I wandered across a ceramics store where more presents and purchases were made. My shipment home is growing considerably. For the lovers of these pieces here's the link http://www.vissidarte.it/. The owner is Stefano Girolami. He knows me as the Aussie girl who paddles.
