This morning we said goodbye to our beautiful Castle hideaway & hit the Autostrada. First stop was Vicolungo The Style Outlet Shopping Mall to spend the last of those pesky Euro's! ... our train didn't leave for Lucerne until mid-afternoon so we ditched our bags at the train station and wandered about for several hours until it was time to leave.This day was rather sunny and warm.

Overall, we quite liked Como. It wasn't crowded with tourists and we saw some interesting sights and had a semi-relaxing time poking around.

... lake, we went up the mountain in a funicular to a small mountain village called Pigra (means Lazy) from where we walked mostly downhill to the lake again – officially you climb 90m and you descend about 660m.

Actually I was expecting, and prepared, to walk up onto the ridge above Pigra but we didn’t … (Perhaps another day.)

... felt very sleepy and quiet. The properties showed that in history there had been a lot of wealth here. After a while exploring the narrow streets we returned to the car park for coffee. After wards Les took a look at the hob, and gave it a good blow out with the compressor to remove all the dust, fluff and dog hairs, after which it worked again. Less than an hour after leaving Milano's central train station, we were in another world, and it was hard to believe the dramatic change in scenery as we entered Italy’s Lakes district.
