North Lakes Tour

A travel blog entry by robynp on May 17, 2015

Day 3: Brescia, Sirmione, Riva del Garda, Verona Breakfast (included) and then a panaromic view of west coast of Lake Garda, the largest lake in Italy. Possible taste the local wines and olive oils. Continue to Sirmione and the Sirmione Cape, visiting a castle and the Catullo's ruins during a boat tour. Free time for lunch at Sirmione and then travel on to Riva del Garda on the north side of the lake. Here we will note the Venetian style historic centre. Finally Tavel to Verona for the ...

Moving on to Turin tomorrow, stay ...

Now this is more like it Bella Italia! On dad’s advice (and it was very sound advice, thanks dad!), we headed straight for Lake Maggiore, and the quaint little town of Stresa. It really does make a difference getting out of the big cities, and as soon as you hit the smaller towns, there is ...

We drove past a number of beautiful old hotels on our way into the town of Stresa on Lake Magorire. Unfortunately, the haze was still over the lake but you could imagine the lovely views on a clear day. We had chosen to stay in Stresa because the previous hotel had a map of the town and it looked nice. Despite the unorthodox method of choosing where to stay, this was not a mistake as it was a lovely town however it was a ...
