... it, so they recommended a cafe further along the lakeside. 20 minutes walk later, we were sitting there, drinking our coffees and cokes, and watching the swans and ducks on the lake. A short walk further to the next ferry stop - and the heavens opened again, only this time it was torrential. Once on the ferry we could barely see the shore!

Raining, again. Quite hard if the noise from the drain was anything to go by. Becomming an expert on gauging the weather by the noise from next doors gutter. As the day progressed, there were monentary lapses, but then the thunder and lightening would return with a vengence, and you were pleased you hadn't sucumbed to the temptation to go for a walk!
Well obviously, if you're going to drive in Italy on the first weekend in August, you need to be going north. That was lucky!
Having finished packing up the car with what seemed to be three times as much as we brought with us - how come it fit getting here, and doesn't on our way back? - we added a trip to a supermarket to fill up with cheap booze and Baci chocolates - ah that explains it!

... bit earlier than last night but to the same restaurant Trattoria L'Antico. It was very good again though the service at the end of the night got very slow as they had a big party arrive. We were tired...it had been a long day in the sun and on the water and we were ready for bed. It was a nice last night in Italy, tomorrow Switizerland. We are all looking forward to seeing the Gold/Nettleton's but we are also sad to be leaving ...
Out in the evening for the orchestral concert being given in Lezzeno as part of the summer festival. Most of the performances are in Bellagio, and dont start till at least 21.00, one being billed as 24.00! Our last bus is 22.00, so we weren't going to miss the performance here. Think the whole village had the same idea. The church was packed, even where there was no line of sight, people still crammed in.
