... our walking tour of Venice first thing this morning to take some photos of the outside and to go into the basilica to have a look around. Compared to the other churches I've been to this one looked it's age. It was dim inside, but there was enough light to see the fresco artworks that crept up the tops of the walls reaching to the ceiling, and many of them included gold borders and features. ... like 'Where's Wally'. We looked at the yard that they make and repair gondolers. Venice is famous for its Merano glass. Pamela cruised the shops looking for some glass to take back home. They have all different kinds here and some of it is nice. I'm sure there will be something in our bags before we leave. We caught another vaporetto back to the stop near our hotel. We will be heading out shortly for dinner then I will try for some night shots of the city. More soon. ...
