... flights that night. We checked out the alternatives, via Bangkok and Singapore. You cannot list standby for multiple flights at the same time so there is a bit of a gamble - do I list myself on the flight I prefer but is overbooked, or do I list myself on a less convenient flight which still has a few empty seats?

We decided to try for the most convenient first and if I missed out on that we would come up with a plan B at the airport. We got to the ...

      One Long Day in Dubai

... day would've been enough. It turns out it was too much time. I will say I really loved the all day Metro pass for 16AED. I easily spent that amount and more using the metro.

I definitely would recommend a visit for anyone who has not been before. The whole liberal but not liberal culture is interesting to observe. We have found Dubai to be enjoyable, with plenty to do for a three day stopover. And there are still a few things left to do next ...

Another 7 hour flight to do?

A travel blog entry by david_simo88 on Jan 21, 2014

The first one was a killer, the second one was the worst flight I have ever done. Impossible to sleep, girl sat next to me tucked up asleep, China asleep and about 30 new movies all asking to be watched. Anyway our thoughts on Dubai airport are... We hate it! Men walking about staring at women, people spitting in the toilets, people just walking into each other. It was very ...

Day 3 - Walking, Walking and, yeah More Walking

A travel blog entry by pbprogo12 on Jan 12, 2014

... 20 minutes of picture taking and souvenir browsing, we went back downstairs to the mall. At the gift shop, I bought a key chain. Then we went back to browsing through the shops of the largest mall in the world. This took a bit of walking. After a while of browsing, but no shopping, we went to the top floor food court to get some lunch. This included a bit more walking. They had the best fast food one could ask for. Me and ...
