From we travelled south to Cairns and have stayed here (Lake Placid Tourist Resort - 8 km N of Cairns) for 14 days

Cairns is a real tourist place but has lots of attractions and surrounded by tropical forest and the ocean - we love it here

The caravan park is alongside the Barron River on one side and backs onto a steep mountain with the usual tropical rain forest and is 3 km downstream from the Barron gorge

... family at afternoon tea time (another sip of water for me), we headed back to dry land! I’ve never been so happy to see grass, trees, soil, tarmac, and that wooden boardwalk taking me to solid ground! I had a funny turn once back at the terminal, where I became faint. The reef tour to Green Island, next day, was a half day tour and the weather was foul. 40 minutes on a large catamaran was a bit like the Manly Ferry labouring through a heavy swell. ... decided to go see if Leah was okay and sat with her the rest of the way. Diana was just very out of it and there was nothing I could do to help her. After we finally got back we needed some dinner, and we went to get pizza. It was really good!

It was such a long day. I am ready to go to bed but I'm going to go hang out down by the pool table with some of the class. We only have tonight and tomorrow left in Australia. It's crazy how fast it's gone!

... restaurant that is always rammed and Seafood Sophie had posh scampi (no breadcrumbs) and barramundi and Rania had a tagine (goin back to her roots!). Alex had a Seafood Jambalaya and I had scallops. Four scallops. That was it. Suffice to say we were definitely having dessert.
