Saturday morning, we woke up early, had breakfast and departed camp. We headed north for about a mile to Burrell’s Ford Road (FSR-708). In about 2.5 miles, we pulled over at a pull-off and started our first of many hikes for the day. We made the short hike to Spoonauger Falls. Unfortunately, this one is pretty pitiful in the low water, despite the rains the night before. After a couple of quick pictures, we headed back to the car and drove ...

... out, we stopped for dinner at Brasstown Creek Gathering Place. I had been here before and think they have some of the best barbeque around and wanted Sandy to try it. After dinner, we headed north to Cherry Hill Recreation Area near Mountain Rest where Justine and the others were camping. The mist and spray from the falls made it difficult to get pictures. I even climbed up to ...

... out with appetizers on the deck of their tug boat down at the community dock (Aaron swam in the warm clear lake) then went back up to the huge back deck of their home to grill and eat.

Other activities we have enjoyed during our first 2 1/2 weeks in Seneca include hiking some of the wonderful trails in the area and Jet skiing with the Hackett's on Lake Jocassie ( situated directly above Lake Keowee). Aaron and ...

... at first. After a couple runs, I was starting to really get cold so I got out of the water. Sandy ended up not sliding – she claimed it was too cold for her. So once I was done, we headed back to the car and started making our way home. We stopped at Las Salsas in Morganton for dinner and had a huge portion of fajitas, a fitting end for another epic Big Brevard ...
