Arrived here late afternoon after a traffic clogged drive from Candi Dasa. This place is absolutely magical. Set along the side of a deep steep ravine enveloped in thick jungle, at first glance it hardly seems the place for a hotel of any sort. However the lobby was the first surprise, open to the jungle valley with a woven mat roof, flowered foot baths and very hospitable and attractive reception personnel. Heading down the main road (which is about 2 blocks), lined with bars, restaurants, and a couple of shops. The street ends in a parking lot at the beach and the start of the short boardwalk. The beach is nothing to write home about. It is more a bay than anything with no surf. But it's a comfortable, friendly tiny town and we like it. We plan to stay for a few days.
