Last night we saw some local fisherman arrive at the hotel with 2 big Tuna that they had just caught... The fisherman sell their catch to the hotels along Lovina beach. We were so excited that we would be able to order such fresh Tuna for supper! Sadly, it was just ok, very fresh but way over cooked :(. Oh well !! Oddly, the retaurant here keeps playing Christmas music all the time . We dined to "have yourself a ...

... The Taman Ujung Water Palace. Built in 1909 to house the King of Karangasem and his four wives. It was almost destroyed in the Mt Agung volcanic eruption of 1963 followed by an earthquake in 1975. But recently with extra funding from the World Bank, the Palace and gardens have been beautifully restored.
It's a place to walk around and feel that sense of calm beauty that comes with large areas of still water and gracefully planted ...

On Wednesday, Loco drove us all around for a personal cultural tour. We started by driving up to Ubud to see a silver factory (where they make jewelery and such). Unfortunately, Loco forgot that the factory portion was closed down because it was voting day. Therefore, we just went into the store/gallery. There were some interesting things there, but being three scrubby-looking dudes, we felt very out of place. Obviously, we were not/did not buy anything (sorry, Emily).

... Did chicken out... We went and had another massage but at Pertenin! I really didn't need that but meh... We decided that tomorrow is Kuta day! There's fark all in Ubud and the prices are riddonk, so I've found a suggestive list of prices and I'll be using that tomorrow!!! We'll see how we go! Good night for now ...

Today I did something I really really was looking forward to: I took a Balinese cooking class! At the class I first met a girl named "Rika" and of course with that name, she was Dutch. Amazing how you can find a Dutch person just about everywhere you go in this world. Then 2 motorcycle guys from the cooking school said "we take you to the market, teacher there".
