... day bed. And then we got up and went out to wander...through the streets to the beach!! We had a yummy lunch of pizza, bruschetta, and Greek salad (with the obligatory Bintang!!) and then sat in beanbags on the beach and dipped into the water. We had a lovely few hours before coming back to laze in the pool with a book before having another dinner feast...the Beef Rendang was yummy, as was the mie Goreng, but the highlight was Chicken Taliwang, a turmeric chicken breast. ...

    ... for beginners and intermediates.

Unsurprisingly, there are two main activities in Kuta: surfing and chilling. We started out with the latter and enjoyed a few drinks on the beach with our fellow hostel mates after a very nice meal at a seafood BBQ place. Whilst eating we got chatting to Catherine and Pedro, an English/Portuguese couple on holiday from Qatar where they are teachers. It wasn't until at least forty minutes of chatting that we noticed the pushchair next to them ...

... but I think it was a little of both. I decided at that moment that I just need to tell her what I think of her. I have many times in my life, kept my mouth shut, and regretted it later. If there is anything that this trip has taught me, it is this, that you need to go for what feels right to you. As we sat there again in silence for a minute, I told her that I was very glad to have met her. She said likewise. But, I continued, and told her that it ...

First day on Gili Air and with bicycles :)

A travel blog entry by chris93savory on May 05, 2015

This morning, still exhausted, dizzy and feeling way too ill to hop on a boat to Gili Air, we do it anyway. The joinery is only 15 minutes or so, and by the time we get there I sit down at a cafe with all the bags hostage, whilst the girls go find us somewhere nice with a pool, and they do just that! At only £7 each a night this place is an absolute steal, with a decent size pool, two nice en-suite rooms and free brekkie! We unpack, enjoy the pool for a short while ...

We checked out of Holiday Resort at about 14:00 hrs and took a Taksi to Medana Resort. Once again we received a very warm welcome and were shown to our villa which is gorgeous!

The resort has not changed and the staff are pretty much the same as 2 years ago. We are welcomed by Resty, the owner, and also by a number of staff!

We we enjoy the gardens and the pool. Dinner is wonderful!
