The night before

A travel blog entry by wanderingwigs

School's out, work is on pause and the cottage industry is closed for Christmas. It's finally here after months of waiting and we're all beside ourselves with excitement.

The bags are packed (with space to spare thanks to Annette's frugal choice of clothes) and we have even managed to find room for Ellie much to Esther's relief.

Arrived in Liverpool at 10:30 and hit up a local bar for a quiet ale at the Wellington. Very seedy yet charming pub with old school 50's country and rock music. Met some locals who were hilarious. One was a "10 pound pom" which he proceeded to tell me ...

Easy day =)

... walk to the duck pond.
We must have walked about an hour or so, and since it was Uncle Daves golf day we went back home to relax for a little while. I ended up curling up on the couch, watching "You've got mail" while I booked my train/ hostels for Scotland. I also met Emily (Ians wife, aka Aunty Edith and Uncle Daves eldest sons wife....lol), since she popped by the house quickly to say hello.
Aunty Edith was really kind and took me to the ...
