... stuff which was all nice. I bought some cosmetic oil so hope I can get it home safely without it spilling right through my luggage. Our hotel in Essaouira is called the Miramar hotel and is lovely. Beautiful pool area but still too cold to swim. Right across the road from the Atlantic Ocean. About 10 min walk to the old town. And a comfortable bed (they've been sooo hard and mostly lumpy pillows!). Free day tomorrow. ...

... However, I don't believe it's my fault really, what else are you supposed to do when a pack of wild dogs starts chasing you?? Apparently, not go faster and pass the instructor..... In the evening we were lucky enough to be taken to a local family's home for dinner. The family was absolutely lovely, especially their two young daughters and were very generous. They laid out a massive and absolutely delicious meal for us ...

... us at Essaouira and Sidi Kaouki. Our time was spent peering through a window in a locked door in search of a man called Jean Gabriel and gazing across at the Iles Purpuraires where the Romans (the geezers who had big respect for us dogs and made the famous canine mosaic at Pompeii) fished for the colour purple which was held in the murex shell.

The next chapter will be our farewell to Morocco.

Yesterday we decided to have a relaxing day and stayed at the riad. The weather had perked up and the rain had stopped. So a good excuse to stay around the pool. A couple of other families are staying, so we feel less concerned about the noise the children are making in the pool. They have been asked to be quiet a few times by the owner.................a little embarassing.
