Google said the drive from Alamos to Chihuahua was 7.5 hours, but the roads were mountainous, curvaceous, and rough...like some of the women in the Sonoran charro bars. I got there in 10 hours. ... Copper Canyon Real. Unfortunately the day we were to leave Creel the only ATM was out of order and we only carried limited funds in cash. The ticket office in the train station was closed so we ended up doing the bus with the locals to Divisadero which was fantastic. ... especially after speaking to the police, I found myself lucky that I hadn't been injured or even killed. From my discussion with the police, they had said that if I was Mexican, they probably wouldn't have even thought twice about killing me, and that I should be extremely thankful that nothing worse had happened.

Still is hard to think about things in that way, but it certainly brought me back to reality, with a pretty horrendous bump....
