If you have heard of the Battle of the Bulge wellllll Bastogne was the center of the action it was surrounded with the American airborne in possession of this town oh note is WWII not WWI. Hitler's last death gasp was a massive assault through the Ardennes in an attempt to keep the allies away from the Dutch ports done here and fortunately failed. -got rolling to nearby Namur and were pleased with how fast the Belgian expressways are.
-a stop in the info center got us well oriented and armed with a handy map of the citadel in English.

... size packs of chocolate and peanuts
2 cases of wine (ranging from pretty decent bordeaux down to 8 euro box wine - aka later to be converted to mulled wine as otherwise undrinkable).

Camped for the night in the Vallee de la Meuse very near the Belgian border and joined in a local French guy's birthday party by accident, though at least got to enjoy plenty of Belgian beer which I would have missed out on otherwise.

We walked back down the hill and wandered the beautiful cobbled streets amongst the impressive architecture until we came to a very lively and hidden restaurant square. Today we drove about 200km in the ****ing rain ... Both wet till the bone!! Luckily we found a small camping with rooms for rent. The room is actually very big, with a kitchen included. After everything was unpacked, I enjoyed a warm shower after having very cold the whole day long. Afterwards we enjoyed a nice meal in the local restaurant. It is now 21.15h but I guess I will not be awake for a long time anymore. Sleep ...
