Sofitel le Sphinx Cairo

02.04.09 Fun packed day on tour at the Pyramids... collected from Sofitel Le Sphinx at 8am, off to Memphis to see artifacts including statues of Ramsses the second some outside and one covered at the Mit Rahina Museum.... the traffic is total chaos ...

... and comfortable. After breakfast we arranged for a hotel taxi driver, Khalel, to take us to the Pyramids and the Sphinx.  It cost 130 Egyptian pounds (LE), including tip.  He drove us through the back streets (rat running) to get us there as ...

... of which appear to be finished. Having your hand luggage x-rayed coming into the hotel is a bit unnerving but I guess it adds a layer of security.    Cairo museum tomorrow which opens @ 8am so early start but looking forward to seeing all the treasures.
