Today I finally got to tick another thing off my bucket list; chado. I was invited to partake in 'The Way of the Tea' (or a Japanese tea ceremony) last November by my vice principle. I was so pleased he asked me because it's something I've wanted to do here in Japan for a long time, being a huge fan of green tea and all (cheers Bauer). I made the hour long journey to my school where it was being held and immediately as I got off the bus I ran into some students. ...

... I did probably the most ballsy thing I've ever done, followed by the most cowardly thing I've ever done. Every day when I get off the train I see this girl. Last couple of weeks I've been saying good morning to her (in Japanese) and this week I decided to finally stop her and give her my number and name. The next day I took the earlier train to avoid running into her, I'll leave you to decide which is the ballsy one and which is the cowardly one.

Had a cracking day today. This week signals the end of my sannensei classes :( So the teacher asked for a game. I could have done any old game like criss cross or shiritori but I decided to do extensive looking online and found a King of Japan game. Today I had 2 classes with the 3rd years and my other 2 are tomorrow. ...

I went down the right slope some more and then thought I'd try the left beginner's slope, which had less people but probably because it looks terrifyingly steep when you are at the top. I managed to make my way down on my own and happened to find Chris at the bottom, who had come to ski with me since Gabriel had to go home and we were talking the bus back. We headed back up to ...

... from Sapporo airport to catch. I slept well, felt really great about the trip so far. In the morning, I caught a cab to the airport and got to the plane with plenty of time to spare. There were more Westerners on
this flight than when I came in, maybe I was just more aware of them. The 1 hour flight touched down in Tokyo/Narita airport, I caught a bus headed into the middle of massive, vibrant Tokyo. I had made arrangements to meet my Canadian buddies near there.
