The place is beautiful but unfortunately the people a lot less... A little disappointed with the lack of friendliness of its inhabitant however the path to reach the top shrine and its steps (apparently arduous) was fun. The view at the top was the most impressive. Seeing so many shrines, it tends to get repetitive so it's nice to have a different surrounding such as here. ... Turned out he was 63years old and hiked 10km up the mountain every day to a 1000m height, with 10kg weights in his bag. It kept him healthy (and crazy young looking as my guess was 40yrs or so). He practised this way every day as he loved to make frequent mountain climbing holidays to France or Austria. What a man!! What an inspiration! And he reminded me so much of a Korean man I met in 2007 on a train who read my future in my palms but who also climbed a mountain each day. He was ...
Nach Kotohira fuhren wir ins Iya-Tal. Dort hat es viele Steilwände und Flüsse, welche sich auch zum River Rafting sehr eignen.
Anschliessend fuhren wir nach Kochi, wo wir übernachteten.
After Kotohira we drove to the Iya Valley. There are a lot of steep face and rivers where you also can go rafting.
In the afternoon we drove to Kochi, where we also stayed for the night.
On my last day in Japan I took the train to Kotohira and visited Konpira shrine.
Along the way I gained a local as my own personal tour guide.
I spent the afternoon on the island of Miyajima. I was completely shattered and had to drag myself there but I'm glad I did. It was a national holiday and there was a festival-like atmosphere on the island. I also discovered the Momiji cakes, a regional specialty.

- Abbiamo ricevuoto un anpan (panino dolce ripieno di marmellata di fagioli azuki) da una simpatica famiglia.
- Simo ha vinto a scarabeo per ben tre volte oggi!!
- Jonny ha ammucchiato delle roccie in riva al fiume per Simo
- Simo trovato una bottiglietta di sake e degli zampironi ^^
- Il negozietto era a 10 chilometri e Jonny se li e' fatti a piedi...per portare a casa un paio di pot noodles!
