The building is now the Saga Castle History Museum and information is provided (in English too) outlining the function of each room and area. Other parts of the museum are used to detail the accomplishments of Saga during the Late Edo period and the Imperial Restoration, as well as introducing the prominent people in Saga at that time, the pioneers of modern Japan.

Our bus ride this morning, while very pleasant, did not pan out exactly as we hoped. However, I am posting this blog so everyone will know that we have arrived in Saga and all is well.

I did mention that my plan to travel from Miyazaki to Saga was not possible and that the helpful assistant at the bus station had fairly limited English, while we have no Japanese at all, except for hello, thank you, ...

... to the shops at the train station. The first one was to the Yodobashi Camera shop at the other side of the station. That side of town was certainly more lively than where we were. Lots of lights, people and restaurants as well as the usual Pachinko Parlours.
