    ... to Kyoto it is miles away from main stream tourism. Sadly it was very misty so we could not take advantage of going up to the mountains. Jonathan has been living in Japan for over 20 years and was able to explain lots to us which was great.     On Wednesday, we headed back into Kyoto for a couple of hours as we'd booked tickets to see the Miyako Odori – the Spring Geisha dance - at Gion Corner.

    This dance is twice yearly event designed for the Maiko – trainee Geisha – to show off the skills they have been learning throughout the year.
