We caught the Eizan Electric Railway to Kurama. We then took the Sakamoto cable car up to Mt Hiei where the Buddhist monastery, Enryakuji complex is. This was one of the most important monasteries in Japanese history. There are three separate areas related to the monasteries. One section is located in the east (Todo), another in the west ...

Today, Megan and I went to conveyor belt sushi, "Kaiten zushi" it was so yummy!
Afterwords we went to Starbucks and chill-axed there for a bit ... Nick came and hung out with us also... after Starbucks, Megan and I had subway "ebi avocado" sandwich. Ebi = shrimp/prawns .. it was yummy

... so nice, quiet, and calm here. The city is in the country side, which makes it all the more appealing to me!
I have noticed that people here a lot more quieter and polite... and I feel like a loud mouth baboon talking and walking down the street!
I get to rent a bike and shop around today! I am looking forward to seeing what the day ...

... meters in either direction but the steep incline we took to reach the top would have been challenging to anyone trying to assault this castle! Unfortunately the castle itself had been rebuilt after earthquake and destruction from WWII but the museum housed in the new construction was a fascinating look into the samurai age (and a reminder of how much taller the human race has become over all...the suits of armor were tiny!).

... end the day we caught up with two of Caitlin's friends in the area for a light show. We walked around with our beer and took in the beautiful displays then headed on for more food and drinks before calling it a night. We headed to our hotel in Nagoya and found a small room with basically just a bunk bed in it, though for $20 each it was more than fine.

Goal: Open my eyes whilst on the scary rides
Status: I did...well most of the time ...
