... lazy and do it over two days rather than try to accomplish the impossible! On day one, we took a detour to check out the Murasaki Pirate museum, and on day 2 we visited Kosan-ji - a stunning temple complex with an underground 'hell' walk housing over 1000 Buddha statues.

10th, 11th + 12th May Kyoto, Part 2!
We liked Kyoto so much that we had to come back and stay with Rumi again. There were also a few things we didn't have time to do last time ...

I'm in Tokyo at the Narita Airport. Today has been a longgggg day already and it's only 4:15pm (Sunday). My flight boards at 4:50pm so I had enough time to eat my last Japanese meal. ... I rarely saw bright colors. It was easy to lose your group in the sea of similar colors. Which was particularly bad for the LAX international terminal because once you get past security everything is ridiculously expensive and there are no restaurants, only snack stands. But outside of security there are many restaurants, so eat before security at LAX international is the moral to the story.
