... WE LOVED: - getting off the bus and being told that although scientists have warned of seismic activity we shouldn't be too worried (but 2/3 cable cars were out-of-use, along with various paths and areas including the Okama crater lake) - the buffet in our restaurant serving almost everything from steak to sashimi: so ...

This is our first layover for a few days.  We are hoping to spend a day touring and then a day to tour and enjoy lunch with our friend Yuko. Still lots of parks but all empty as no one seems to like the sun. Women wear sleeves with UV protection which they pull off to bare their beautiful white arms when they go indoors. There are blocks of covered shopping streets with no apparent order; Gucci is next to a running ...

... Bay where we could almost not find our hotel, but it was beautifully located on a small hill overlooking the Matsushima bay with the small islands.

We immediately were exploring the island that was accessible by the bridge and to capture some of the pictures when the sun was setting.

The hotel and onsen were really nice and the meal was excellent. All variety of sea food nicely prepared overlooking the bay -- just nice
