Day 8: Shirakawa-go - Koemon Farmhouse
... out that the Japanese couple were also fans of sake and whiskey. They talked about booze with so much passion that i felt like I found my soul-mates. They even made me a list of recommendations which i now keep in my super secret and safe fanny pack along w/ my other belongings that i cannot lose like my cash stash and passport. Shirakawa-go
... the middle of the room that spread its fumes throughout he whole house. Howvwer you are not allowed to smoke in the whole of the village because of fire risk!
We walked up to the viewpoint and then walked back to our car.
Next we headed to Toyama mainly via tunnels. Our hotel was opposite a temple and pagoda and near the castle. We had a walk around, idenified a place to eat but decided to just get some snacks instead as we we both tired.

We started the day checking out the Kenroku-en Garden which is the city's main attrraction. It is very beautiful and lush and voted one of the official top three gardens in Japan. The day started ominously with a late night toilet break only to find the bedroom door jammed shut. After a lot of rattling, and waking Aiden (he thought I was part of some weird nightmare) to doublecheck I wasn't being a complete numpty I had to call reception to get as out.
