ZaZa is Zariffic! A review of Hotel ZaZa Dallas
Recently returned with my girlfriend from a 4-night business / pleasure trip, staying at Zaza (our average age is 50+). Booked hotel based on reviews here (some of the negative ones actually convinced us!), their web site, and also wanting a change from the ordinary. We booked on line without issue. ZaZa is simply outstanding in every respect; a refreshing change. All staff friendly and service excellent. No complaints anywhere. We even had the owner sit down at our table and chat with us one evening at Dragonfly! The Decor is superb, even that single bowl of lollipops in the lobby. We've stayed at the Savoy, the Paris Ritz, the Pierre, Waldorf, etc., and our stay at ZaZa was every bit the equal. One of our best hotel stays ever. Even the lifts, with their dim lighting, were soothing. We really felt like we were at an oasis, not in Dallas. I could go no and on....
One caution, however: We stayed in the lovely Metropolitan Suite ($259/nt). While a fabulous room, it is a large double room, not a suite as advertised (no separate sitting room). Also, aside from a small walk-in closet, there is virtually no other closet or drawer space. However, for the price we paid, we do not consider this a real complaint. Had we paid rack rate, I would have asked to change rooms. Otherwise, a large comfortable and very stylish room.
Yes, Dragonfly is VERY popular, especially on Thursday nights- Get there early. We enjoyed a couple of great evenings there.
Ultimately, the ZaZa is tops in our book. We'd love to return to ZaZa, and perhaps see some of Dallas while we're at it!
