Your soul can breathe here A review of Lucia Lodge
My new husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights the day after our wedding. We arrived in the evening and could not see (but could definitely hear!) what was directly below our cabin. We slept with the windows open, the gas woodstove cranked. The next morning the sun streamed in and all we saw was breathtakingly beautiful turquoise water with enormous cliffs jutting from it. Otters sunbathed on the rocks below. Although we were temporarily offset from lack of TV, phone, radio and even clocks, we quickly settled in and embraced the peace and solitude.
We stayed in Cabin 9. The cabins are rustic, and that's sort of the point when you're staying in Big Sur, but great care is taken to provide the best of the basics. The sheets, duvet and thick towels smelled gloriously of lavendar linen water, and the in-room couch and chairs were nice touches. We found the staff to be very friendly, the restaurant and breakfast food pretty darn decent (although dinner was rather pricey), and the whole place very clean and homey. We truly loved it and will definitely stay there again. A fantastic place for a honeymoon!
