When I stayed at the Sheraton Airport in Charlotte, NC, I had never really known what a truly BAD hotel experience can be like... First of all, I went with my brother and his wife and had requested well in advance to have connecting rooms. That did not happen, and any attempt to speak with the manager about the situation proved fruitless. But what REALLY got me is that the Sheraton hosted a national dog gathering at the hotel that weekend. I believe the dog breed was the Vishlu or something like that. Really gorgeous dog. About 500 of them in the lobby of a hotel where I plan to relax and spend time with my family? Not so cute. The lobby reeked of "dog." It was an absolute nightmare, and had the hotel made us aware of this situation prior to our arrival or reservations, we might have thought to stay elsewhere. What really got me, though, was the uselessness of the staff, particularly the manager. Also, when we asked for a closeby restaurant recommendation, we were sent on a treasure hunt out in the middle of nowhere. We drove about 30 minutes each way, only to get lost and end up at a Chili's due to aggravation and hunger. Stay at this hotel at your own risk.
