Wow, maybe the nicest hotel in OKC A review of The Skirvin Hilton Oklahoma City
They did a wonderful job renovating the Skirvin, and from the looks, spared no expense. It's definitely one, if not the #1, nicest hotels in downtown Oklahoma City. The rooms were fabulous, the bed was awesome (all down comforter and pillows), every room has a 32" LCD TV (suites have 40"+ plasma), breakfast in the restaurant was very good and the service all over the hotel was excellent. I would highly recommend them to anyone. We went from floor to floor just looking at the old photographs in the hallways. The 14th floor and the conference rooms look gorgeous, I have an event in April i'm anxiously awaiting to get to attend that will be in both areas.
Now the down sides. It's very pricey. But it goes back to the old saying, you get what you pay for. It's definitely the nicest hotel in OKC but unless your into decadence, it's overpriced really.
My shower did not work properly, the lever to turn off/on the shower was not functioning and remained only on (which meant you get a cold awakening thinking you can adjust the water temp. before turning it on) a minor inconvenience.
Our rate included breakfast in the morning and the check-in staff did not give us our vouchers, I only had to go back and ask for them and they were issued immediately with an apology, also just a minor inconvenience. Breakfast was very very good, but in looking at the prices of the menu, if it was not included on my room rate, I would have thought definitely overpriced for what we received.
The bar was very relaxing and the staff was very intune with the crowd. There was a live piano player that night (friday) and he was very good, mostly played only customer requests.
Note: Valet parking is included on your room bill (not sure if it was an extra charge) and is well worth whatever it was to not park overnight on the street.
