Wouldn't stay again. A review of Hotel Hermosa
We recently stayed at Hotel Hermosa and were sadly disappointed. We reserved a 2 story suite that was supposed to include a view. Our view was a view of another room. If you stood on your tiptoes you could see over the roof of the other room out to the ocean. Our balcony was nearly enclosed with at pony wall blocking most of that view. We seemed to be in a sort of inner corner room. We couldn't even open the curtains without having the neighbors looking right in. They couldn't help it..our room was their view! Forget opening the windows for fresh air. You could hear everyone and everything around you.
As I stated before, it was a two room suite yet they only provided us with two towels. Two towels aren't enough for even two people. Thankfully we didn't have any other guests staying with us.
The bathroom was moldy and dirty, the bedspread had a horrible odor. Neither of the remote controls worked for the televisions. The living room furniture was broken down and sagging. We had to use pillows under our rears to keep from sliding down the couch.
The hair dryers in the rooms are ancient and hardly work at all. The one time I decided not to bring my own hair dryer and I was so sorry I didn't. I had to go buy a cheap one that turned out to be just fine.
Also- There are no irons or boards in the room. When I called down to get an iron she said "yeah, but you have to come get it."
The board is a tiny little board that sits (or doesn't) on a flat surface. A Joke! I ended up ironing on the floor.
The front office person was less than friendly. She worked during the day and acted as though she was bothered any time a guest came to the desk. I over heard her having a confrontation with another guest and she was horribly unprofessional.
The lobby had an awful stench the whole time we were there. I heard other guests complaining of the smell. No clue as to what it was.
I have to make three good points- The bed was great...huge bed, nice and firm. There was a mini refrigerator and a coffee pot in the room.
We paid under 150 a night for our room but even at that inexpensive rate I wouldn't stay there again.
