Would not return. A review of Mountain Harbor Inn Resort On the Lake
We rented the Lincoln Penthouse Suite for our 24th Anniversary. The pictures on their website are misleading. The Inn appears to be alone in the woods beside a lake. Reality: It is 10 feet (really) from a very busy 24/7/365 Highway 139. The noise from the cars, motorcycles and trucks kept us awake all night. The "Lincoln" has two bedrooms which face the Highway and every time a car or truck went by, we thought they were going to come inside the room. Also, the Orange Room Freshener made us nausious. They used way too much. On the good side, the suite is large, nice kitchen, Jacuzzi in one bathroom, shower in the other, big screen TV, nice deck with a spa tub. Only other complaint is that we had to share our side of the deck/spa tub with the folks in the other Penthouse. There is no way to divide the two sides of the deck upstairs, so we had no privacy. Room cost was way too high, $269.00 per night, for there to have been the issues we encountered. Should have been more privacy, NO NOISE, larger bedrooms. Breakfast was good, coffee was mediocre. We stayed 3 nights and breakfast was the same each morning. Evening dessert was awesome!! Choice of delicious Cheesecake, or an incredible Brownie with lots of Icecream and fudge sauce with a cherry. Staff was very friendly, efficient, professional. Main reason we would not return is the NOISE!!!
Don't know how it could be fixed considering how close the inn is to the road. I'm not kidding. Ten feet from the road.
