Would be perfect with A/C A review of Sea Village Resort
Spent a week here and had no problems with the condo. Stayed in unit 4208, which is privately owned and was rented from Lehua properties, not Sunterra. Outstanding value at $100/night (+ tax and $85 cleaning fee) for a 2bdr/2bath (ocean front) that can sleep up to 6 adults.
The furnishings were nothing fancy, but it was all very comfortable and reasonably clean. Large living room had comfortable chairs and pullout sofa. Also had nice TV with cable and Stereo/CD player with a number of Hawaiian music CDs to listen to. Balcony had a nice table and chairs to relax on. Fantastic view of the ocean.
Prior guests had left several rolls of paper towels and laundry detergent (bonus). They also had left a lot of stuff in the fridge. Some might be put off by the partially used jars of food (jelly, mayo, mustard, etc.), but some things, like cans of soda, were appreciated. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and serve food, including blender, coffee maker, toaster, and microwave oven. All of this in addition to full oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and stacked washer/dryer.
Only thing that some folks may find to be a problem is that the unit is not air conditioned. Ceiling fans and additional small fans helped, but without a breeze, it was quite hot inside during the day. I think we were there duing a very hot week (even the locals were complaining about the heat). Fortunately, things cooled off in the late evening and sleeping was comfortable.
If you're looking for a sterile, hotel atmosphere with a 'sanitized for your protection' band around the toilet seat, this is not the place for you. Mind you, the place is professionally cleaned between guests, but it's definitely lived in. If, however, you feel comfortable staying in someone else's home, you'll appreciate the excellent value offered here.
