Worth it! A review of Hotel Ambassador-Zlata Husa
November 2003 We had a great room overlooking St. Wencelas Square and loved it! Big room, great big modern bathroom, very good *hot* buffet breakfast! Not just cold croissants and fruit cocktail. We spent a long weekend in Prague and can't wait to go back. Since we took the sleeping train from western Germany, we arrived about 9am. We asked very politely if it might be possible to check into our room. The woman at the desk said she would see if she could accomodate us and gave me some tour brochures to look at while we waited. This is classic, as the hotel personnel get a kickback if they hook you up on the tour. This has happened to me nearly everywhere I've been in the world. So we looked at the brochures and went back and very politely asked for a Prague highlights tour if it wasn't too late or too much trouble. Of course it wasn't, and our room was miraculously available as well!! This place is located within 15 min walking distance of the train station with no major terrain negotiation to contend with. We walked everywhere and easily found our way back to the hotel. We would easily go back to this hotel. PS, take the tour, it was worth it!
