Wonderfully surprised... A review of Penn's View Hotel
Stayed at Penn's View June 24-26. There is nothing I like more than a charming upscale boutique hotel - and that is exactly what I found. We stayed in Room 508 which is on the side of the building...it was wonderful. Hardwood floors, fireplace, tiny balcony - and, very important to me, decorated with understated but lovely style. The room looks NOTHING like the ones on the website! I loved our room (and I tend to be very particular about details). If you want a large terrace, ask for 509. I peeked into a couple standard rooms when being serviced, quite basic - by all means ask for the deluxe rooms. The rooms I saw that had hardwood floors were definitely the best rooms btw. Even if you don't stay here, visit the bar downstairs...a beautiful room w/ gorgeous murals - a great place to spend a couple hours. The inn is in walking distance to all the historic sights & alot of great restaurants (I highly recommend Fork Etc. - both the restaurant and the fantastic deli). The breakfast as others have said, is nothing spectacular - but that was a very minor issue to me. I would definitely stay here again!
