Wonderful trip; Loved the Marriott A review of Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront
We were in Portland from August 2-8 for both business and pleasure. Stayed at the Marriott Downtown and had a room with a view of the river and Mt. Hood. Everything exceeded our expectations! The hotel was great; the room was pretty, roomy, and the bed with the new down pillows was one of the most comfortable hotel beds we've ever slept in. The city is so pretty and we did a lot of sightseeing--a city tour, a visit to Mt. Hood and the Columbia Gorge, one day we drove through the wine country and visited wineries, one day we drove to the coast and visited Cannon Falls, Seaside and Astoria as well as Fort Clatsop for the replica of Lewis and Clark's winter fort. In Portland, the Japanese Garden and the Rose Gardens are simply beautiful. We enjoyed excellent food at several restaurants. The city of Portland was just a wonderful place to visit and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to see a beautiful American city.
