Wonderful, relaxing B&B! A review of Kingsley House Bed and Breakfast Inn
I stayed in the Kingsley House at the same time as the negative reviewer. I stayed in the turret room and had no problems with the house, the room, or Dave. The house has so many things to accomodate you on your stay. There are wine glasses, champagne flutes, and unlimited beverages (hot or cold) available 24/7. Not to mention the tray of "extras" of things you may have forgotten, i.e. toothbrushes, aspirin, antacids, etc. There are towels for each room and beach towels in case you go to the beach. There is also a "bottomless" cookie jar available around the clock.
I went for my honeymoon and my wife and I had the most relaxing and enjoyable time. If we didn't want to spend time in the tub, we would have gotten a smaller room. We don't go on vacation to spend time in the bathroom (except when there is a jacuzzi ;) ).
I have to highly recommend the romance package. The massages alone were worth the price. The massager is a local woman who is very nice and put us at ease. Also, the paddleboat ride was really fun and we loved looking at the local buildings, expensive homes and boats, and hearing some local history. We took our picnic lunch (also a good option) out to the back swing and had a great time finishing off a bottle of wine with our habanero cheese.
I loved the french toast so much I had two pieces. I didn't try the sausage, but there was plenty there when I came down late for breakfast. The second day there was a breakfast pizza-like food and some hash brown potatoes. I ate my fill and thought they were both excellent. Also, there was fruit and pastries there both days. The fruit was fresh and there was plenty there. There is also "goodies" available during the day on the same table, I had an amazing lemon bar the second day. I love food and thought that the B&B served some of the best food I've had.
The area is also very nice, there's a great orchard called Cranes that has all homemade desserts, a great evening place to check out. There weren't many people around at any time while we were in the town. The entire area is secluded and the house is no exception. The "main road" doesn't see much traffic and the porch is obscured by the landscaping. We ate our entire picnic lunch without seeing another person.
If you are looking for a relaxing, romantic, pampered getaway - look no further! We had such a great time we bought gift certificates for our parents. If that isn't a sign we had a fantastic time, I don't know what is!
