Wonderful Place to Stay A review of Candlewood Suites Jersey City
I visited New York City for a dance workshop but arranged to stay here because of good reviews and the reasonable price. The place is very convenient from the Pavonia PATH station. The city itself looks so clean compared to New York City. It reminded me more of Century City in CA or Crystal City in VA. Check-in was very easy. I presented my Priority Club card and they oriented me with the facilities, amenities, etc.
When I went inside the suite...wow! It was spacious, it had a nice long table in the middle, like in a conference room. The kitchenette was complete with stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, fridge. The TV had a VCR, and since I bought some choreography tapes, I was able to view them immediately. The clock in the living room had a CD player, so it also helped me to practice the choreography that I was learning in the workshop. Bathroom is also nice and spacious, and the room had a great view of the harbor.
The Candlewood Cupboard is also a valuable part of this place. I was able to save a lot on food just by accessing this feature. It is done on an honor system. If you don't have the exact change, just go over to the front desk and they will help you; otherwise, charge it to your room.
For anyone going to New York City, stay at this hotel. It's nice and quiet, has a nice view, is convenient to the Pavonia PATH Station, and it costs less than the expensive New York hotels, but is more spacious and clean.
