Wonderful Place to Stay A review of Maui Guest House

My husband and I stayed at the Maui Guest House B&B the first week of May 2005. After searching the various hotels in the area and discouraged by the outrageous prices I found this gem in Lahaina. The house was incredible clean and comfortable. The owner, Tanna, was very courteous and friendly and upon arrival showed us around all of the common areas of the house. The house has a huge flat screen tv and surround sound in the media room which has viewing hours so as not to disturb the guests staying in the nearby rooms. Also there is a large kitchen stocked with all the necessities you would need to cook a meal either inside or poolside at the grill and the refrigerator always had a selection of drinks to help yourself. Our room was very comfortable with it's own A/C unit, private lanai, and large hot tub. Also, the bathroom was generous sized for a B&B and the shower had a natural sunlight window in the ceiling which was nice for morning and afternoon showers. The house was in a residential neighborhood and was very quiet at night. We were only a short drive (5 minutes to downtown Lahaina, 7 minutes to Kaanapali Beach, 13 minutes to Honoulua Bay, 30 minutes to Kihei and airport) to anything you would want. Tanna was very helpful with her suggestions on where to go and what to see. This B&B also very much caters to divers which was very helpful to us as we had all of our own scuba/snorkeling gear. They had an outside shower area to hose everything off after a day in the ocean and even plenty of drying racks for the gear. Other amenities were daily room service, a glass container of chocolates in each room, in room refrigerator, plenty of supplies for the beach (towels, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, sunscreen), a fully stocked laundry room with detergent free of charge, plenty of parking and a great selection of foods for breakfast including muffins, bagels, and tons of fresh fruit. The final day of our stay we had a late night flight (10PM) and because we chose the Maui Guest House as our accomodations we were able to fully enjoy the beaches and take advantage of the entire day because we knew that we could go back to the B&B and use the house shower to prepare for our flight home. We wouldn't have had that same opportunity staying at a hotel with a checkout time of 11 AM. I highly recommend this place and we would definitely stay there again!
