Wonderful hotel for families! A review of The Steamboat Grand
Our family of 5 just returned from a 3 night stay at the Steamboat Grand Hotel July 9-12. We usually have to rent two hotel rooms to accomodate our entire family since we have two college kids and one 15 year old. Staying at the Steamboat Grand was so nice because it has 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suites with a LARGE living area, dining area, and nice full kitchen so we could visit and spend some time together instead of each going to our rooms at night. The room was really nice, with beautiful furnishings and all the amemities you could want. We stayed on the 5th floor, so there was a nice view of the ski mountain, which by the way is right across the street so easy access for skiers. There was a TV in each bedroom and in the living area, all with a VCR, and a radio with CD player in the living room. There was a gas fireplace that we used early in the morning when it was chilly. The bathrooms were large and well furnished with granite countertops and luxurious white robes to use. The master bedroom had a small balcony. There is underground parking for hotel guests and one night we returned late and the underground parking was full; we got free valet parking that night. The pool and exercise room is very nice. All the hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Steamboat Springs is a fun town with lots to do! Our "kids" rented nice mountain bikes and rode the gondola to the top of the mountain and biked down for three hours and had a blast. We also took a fly fishing trip with the Steamboat Fishing Company and learned a lot (we're beginners) plus had a good time fishing on a beautiful river. We wished we could have stayed longer. Steamboat Grand is a wonderful hotel - I can't imagine anyone not loving this place.
