Wonderful family hotel A review of Courtyard Pittsburgh Downtown
Our family stayed at this hotel for a weekend in August 2005. It was easy to find and worth it to valet park rather than trying to find a lot to park in. It is right by the convention center and easy walking distance to many restaurants and PNC Park. I do not know if the Pirates do this every home weekend game, but we were able to see the fireworks from our room when the game was finished. There are many small mom-and-pop type restauarants in the area and not many of the standard chain places. The rooms are very nice and large (very high ceilings). We got 2 queen beds that came with four pillows each. The breakfast buffet was very nice and filling. They have quite a selection to choose from. The only problem we had was getting directions to some places. It is a new hotel (barely a year old) and staff. They are very friendly and helpful and once the front desk staff gets familiar with where things are in Pittsburgh it will get even better. It would also help them to have a rack of travel brochures.
