Will only stay in a marriott if nothing else available A review of JW Marriott Houston
I took my daughter on a cruise for her 21st b-day out of Galveston and we stayed at the JW the night before the cruise. Our stay was so awful I will only stay on a marriott if there is nothing else available.
We had to drive around the block several times to enter the hotel and finally entered thru the exit as they had the entrance blocked.
At check in we were notified that the double-double that we booked and had confirmation on, was unavailable and that marriott does not gaurantee room types. The desk clerk was not very plesant, however did offer us an upgrade to the consierge/club level w/ a king bed. Our room was very nice however I am wondering where "Beaumont - 9/16" stayed as we did not have a TV in our dressing/bath area. We did have a very nice bell man who was very informative. Although he mentioned nothing about the club level. As he was leaving I asked "we were upgraded to club level...is this club level..where is the lounge"... He replyed..."these are the club rooms but the lounge and services are not offered on the weekends"......so in reality we were offered an upgrade that did not exist.
After I had checked out and the car was loaded and we were driving away...they stopped me to come back as they had negligted to charge me the $24 for parking for my 18hr stay...so back into the hotel and to the front desk........as this point I was furious and just never wanted to see the marriott name again.
We are headed back to Houston in 2 wks .....we are going to try the OMni.....
