Will Be a Great Hotel Once the Kinks are Worked Out A review of Lancaster Arts Hotel
This is going to be a fabulous little boutique hotel in downtown Lancaster when all the kinks are finally worked. Which I hope is soon since the place had been opened for over 6-mths. Easy walking distance to the market and downtown area. The entire decor is contemporary minimalistic. Very clean with great amenities.
Big lesson learned is to get the rate in writing if you book over the phone or else you may end up in a "he said, she said" type argument with the manager.
The hotel website was having problems with lots of broken links so I called to book over the phone. I got a confirmation number but did not think to have it faxed to me. Upon check-in, the computer was acting up so the desk clerk could not print out the paperwork which included the rate confirmation. It was one thing after another. When we did check out the rate was soooo much higher than what was quoted. Unfortunately, I had to ask for the manager to come out of her glass office to discuss the issue which led to an unpleasant confrontation. I finally did get the rate I was quoted but having to argue for it left a bad memory.
It was also at this time that we discovered that we were put into a "studio" room when what we were quoted was a "deluxe". Like I said - they're still working things out.
Great little place but be sure you stay on top of what you should be getting in your room rate and what type of room you should get.
