What more could you ask for? A review of Botel Albatros
Two adults and two teenagers stayed for five days. The snow was thick outside but the heating was more than adequate. You have to remember that it is a boat so you are staying in a cabin, not a hotel room. Consequently, the bathroom is very small but perfectly adequate. If you want a bubble bath and a bidet, the Hilton is just up the road but you'll pay extra for it. We had a family room which was one twin and one double in adjoining rooms. There was a tv with MTV and Sky news which catered for most tastes. We could have done with a kettle in the room but we coped without one! It was kept really clean. The maid came in every day to make beds and change all the towels. The location is great. It was 650 kc in a taxi from the airport but we never paid a penny for transport whilst we were there. You can walk to all the sights and there are plenty pubs and restaurants locally. The restaurant on the boat was closed while we were there so we just got a cold, continental breakfast. It was quite good but after five days we were sick of the sight of cheese buns! The staff weren't the happiest bunch of ladies but we found this was the case in a lot of shops and pubs. There were a mixed bunch on the boat, older couples, families and students. No-one seemed out of place.
All in all, good value, good location, clean and warm. What more could you ask for?
