What a nightmare! A review of Sanctuary Resort & Spa
I wish I had checked with this website before booking with this "resort".
We booked a room for our anniversary expecting the resort atmosphere described on the website and were very disappointed when we checked in. The staff at checkin were unprofessional and the room run down and in need of major work. They website was very misleading! The poolside cabana bar had self service hot coffee and hot tea only (in June). The phone in our room had a face plate showing we were staying at the Ritz Carlton, Laguna Nigel room 1049 (yeah right), the smoke detector in our room was located mid-wall behind the tv armoir. Cabinet facings were missing, light fixtures broken, holes in the walls, the balcony carpet/fake grass was torn-up and plastic furniture stained. We wanted to get out of our "luxurious" king mountain view room (not a nice view mostly run down housing and motels, telephone poles an alley oh and a mountain way off in the distance) and asked the front desk about movie theaters employees directed us to a local activity guide on the counter because they were not familiar with the area.
