Well located but wouldn't stay here again A review of Hotel Mozart
We booked this hotel as part of a trip to Belgium which took in Bruges. The hotel is well-located in the centre and with rather baroque furnishings throughout the hotel we looked forward to our stay. The room was a good size and reasonably clean. That first night there was one rather upsetting problem: the room backed onto a central courtyard with an outlet pipe for the kitchen directly below. The cloying smell of stale cooking fat filled the room during the night and meant we had no real sleep that night. After making a complaint we were told that this was the centre and close to the Markt so perhaps we should quit complaining. After standing firm and asking to be moved to another room the concierge (grudgingly) moved us. No chip-pan odours this time. Maybe this was a one-off but the unhelpful and unfriendly manner that our grievance was dealt with means we won't be staying here again.
