Welcoming comfort in a home-like atmosphere A review of Quimby House Inn
We just returned from a magnificent vacation in the Acadia region of Maine with a side trip to Nova Scotia. Our home away from home was the Quimby House Inn located in Bar Harbor, Maine. Tom and Gayle Abbot are the innkeepers, they run a very comfortable clean and welcoming establishment. This was our second trip to Bar Harbor and we would not think of staying anywhere else. The property is well kept and appears newly renovated. There is ample floor space in the rooms and Gayle is in the lobby every morning making coffee and providing a welcoming smile. Both Tom and Gayle are very knowledgeable about the surrounding area, the best restaurants and activities. Ample off street parking is available and you have two excellent restaurants for breakfast that are within three-minute walking distance. (We like Two Cats and Jordan's). Bike and Kayak rental is just outside the front door. The area is quet in the evening but close to the middle of town, a five-minute walk. Joy and I are looking forward to returning with our two adult children (if schedules permit) next year. The Quimby House is family friendly and provides a worry free home away from home.
