Welcome to the lifestlye of the Rich and Famous! A review of Chateau Marmont
My friends and I took a trip to L.A. in July of of 04'. We stayed at the Chateau Marmont in a two bedroom suite, and boy was it a hell of a trip. As soon as you hit the stop light on Sunset Blvd, right next to Marmont st., you see a magnificent white Castle-like building hovering over the city, hidden behind shrubbury. You turn up the small street, and enter the parking garage and greeted graciously. As soon as we walked in, we were wating for the elevators and down the stairs walks BEN STILLER. We saw a total of 5 celebrities while at the hotel: Mandy Moore, Jessica Beil, and Benicio Del Toro to name a few. The lobby is dimmly lit, and done in a period decor of 1960's, but it somehow manages to pull of a new age feel. Our hotel room was amazing! Trees stood outside the window (it made me forget I was in L.A.), the kitchen stocked, flat screen TV, great balcony, beautiful furniture, and the bedrooms were so comfortable. Each bed had 2 feather down pillows along with feather comforters. Cotton robes and slippers were hidden in the closet, and the staff was there to serve your every need. The Chateau at nighttime was filled with Hollywood business men and women, movie stars, directors, and other random people shuttled in and out night after night. We ate in the lobby area two nights during our stay (you could eat in the lobby, outisde, or in the extremely small dining room. No matter what wherever you were a waiter was there to serve you) The food was great, and they had a good variety. The staff was extremely accomodating, and always had a smile (except for one woman who didn't like us very much). The hotel is a must STAY if you visit L.A. It is full of history and opulance that I am SURE you won't find anywhere remotely close to this place in the city. By far the nicest place I have been!
