We had a pretty good time A review of Tan-Tar-A Resort, Golf Club, Marina & Indoor Waterpark
We stayed here to celebrate our honeymoon. Our stay was okay. I used the spa and really thought it was reasonably priced for a spa. The staff there was very friendly. We also ate at all but one of the eating establishments. We were very very pleased with the food. (except Sbarros-it was just okay) Our check-in was very easy. Our room was located with others right on the lake. We had no problems with noise, but there was a slight insect problem. I found a few in the bathroom (which is right by the front door). We did however encounter a problem with the in-room babysitting. This was the whole reason we went to this place. We had planned on using the marina and doing some parasailing.
We were told that they needed 24 hours advance, we gave them 48. I also called prior to our trip to request this. The receptionist told me to wait until I arrived to ask for the service. They told us they would continue trying to find someone. Finally when it was a few hours prior to our reservation, we called the activities desk to ask if they had found anyone. The woman was snippy and told us they said they would leave a message on our room phone. We explained to her that we had made reservations and also given them ample time to locate someone. She said there was nothing she could do. We then spoke with the manager at the front desk. He was very polite and made some calls himself. In the end, they found no one and we asked to be refunded for a full night's stay.
We left shortly after that. (a day early) We were really happy with everything else, but I gave it an average rating because of the babysitting incident. The activity desk staff could use some customer service training. I do not know what the other rooms look like that are located inside the main buildings, but ours was fairly nice. The kitchenette was definitely a plus with a baby. Family friendly place.
We will most likely go back.
